As per the statement of Canadian firm Lucara Diamond Corp representative the second biggest rough diamond of 2,492 carat has been discovered from its Karowe Diamond mine. This could be the second-largest gem-quality ever unearthed. The largest gem-quality diamond was discovered a 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond in a South Africa mine in 1905. The diamond weighs approximately half a kilogram. X-ray technology has been used to discover as claimed. A bigger black diamond was found in the 1800s in Brazil but above the ground.
